Homaha, NE to Greenfield, IA -- April 2nd

I really wanted to take Highway 92 to Greenfield, which is about 87 miles east of Omaha, and 10 miles south. Hwy 92 is a much more scenic drive, but is only one lane most of the way. I ended up leaving later than I wanted to from Omaha, mostly due to the fact that I went out with a couple of former classmates of mine on Wednesday night, and I decided shots were in order. Needless to say, I slept a bit later on Thursday, and kept finding more and more things to bring along. Seriously, a guy packing for a month-long trip?? This plan outdoes any other vacation in my life time-wise by at least double if I remember them all correctly. And so I was supposed to meet my good friends Hesper and Brian in Greenfield for a good dinner, but was running late, so I decided to just take I-80 there.
I'm glad that I ended up taking that route, because along I-80 now, there are probably over 150 windmills visible from the interstate and it looks really cool. I was trying to snap pictures of the wind farms as I was doing about 85 the whole way. :) I get into town and they had already eaten b/c it was almost the kids' bedtime by the time I arrived. But they were very gracious and even bought me dinner and hung out with me while I ate. Their oldest daughter, Akayla, is now ten and last time I saw her, we hung out at the Family Fun Center in Omaha and had a blast, so she was looking forward to seeing me, and only got to for about an hour. Sorry, Akayla, next time. Elanie is now three and is sooo big compared to when I saw her last. I don't think she could even talk, and was probably about 1. Now she is very articulate, and has questions for everything.
With the kids in bed, the 3 of us, got some beers and tought each some new card games and rocked out on guitar hero. I ahd a really good time and was glad to see my friends again, it had been too long. I left the next afternoon, after relaxing much of day and getting some Subway for lunch.
